Dr. Vincenzo Guarcello
Dr. Guarcello is Lab Director and is a distinguished scientist in translational medicine. His specialty is the treatment of cancer patients through the application of cancer genomics, enzymatic assays and pharmacogenetics. His extensive experience includes faculty positions 25 with the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and the publication of 41 articles. As Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at UAB, Dr. Guarcello was involved with the pharmacogenetics of 5-Fluorouracil through enzymatic assays, genetic mutation detection, and gene expression analysis. Dr. Guarcello received his PhD from the University of La Sapienza, Rome, and his medical degree from the University of Catania Medical School. Dr. Guarcello’s research has been focused on enzyme kinetics and genetic mutations associated with the metabolism of 5-fluorouracil through enzymatic assays, genetic mutation detection, and gene expression analysis.
Michael Griffith
Mr. Griffith, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Business Development, received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Alabama in 1975. Mr. Griffith is a financial consultant and real estate developer, and most recently served as 24 managing member of ITT Labs, a successful genetics and molecular laboratory. Prior to establishing ITT Labs, Mr. Griffith served as manager of G&G Sun Coast Development. He has been instrumental in over $50 million in equity financing for Southeastern companies and served as partner on numerous new business ventures. From 1985 to 1995, Mr. Griffith was employed in the construction and real estate business, specializing in finance. Prior to 1985, he worked in the sale and distribution of steel products for O’Neal Steel and Metal Resources. During his career, Mr. Griffith served as managing partner for American Contract services, a national employee leasing firm and Vice President, Director of Investor Relations, Biomedical Disposal, Inc., a medical device company.
Ben Williams
Mr. Williams is the founder of Genetics Solutions, a distribution organization for genetic labs. He has worked with Atrium Medical, Inc. and Biotronik and has a track record of competitive competence in all areas of medical sales, including sales enhancement, territory development, client relations, account management and sales techniques. More recently, he was a principal in ITT Labs, a genetics lab in Birmingham, Alabama. While at ITT, Mr. Williams was responsible for sales and marketing for the company. During Mr. Williams’ tenure, ITT grew its sales from $0 to $10 Million in the first 18 months. Mr. Williams has a broad knowledge of hospital/physician protocols and over ten years of experience in enhancing revenue and client bases. Mr. Williams holds a degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi, Oxford.
Teddy Bichon
Mr. Bichon brings a broad range of sales leadership, management, and historic revenue growth production to Proteus Genomics. Prior to joining Proteus Genomics Executive Leadership Team, he served in multifarious management and sales leadership roles at Atrium Medical Corporation, Maquet Medical Systems, U.S.A., and the Getinge Group. During his distinguished 20+ year career, he has received multiple President’s Club, Circle of Excellence, Region of the Year awards, and numerous personal sales awards. Most recently, he was the Principal Sales Manager for Getinge, responsible for $16mm in sales revenue. Teddy joins the Proteus Genomics team as our Vice President, Sales & Business Development.
